MONTHLY SOCIALS
On the second Saturday of each month, members and guests of the River City Gems enjoy an evening of dining and socializing. Our monthly socials are relaxed, welcoming, informal, and fun for everyone. You may attend in either male mode or female mode, whichever is more comfortable for you. All we ask is that you come dressed appropriately for the venue we are in. Usually this means anything from “neat casual” to “semi-dressy” attire.

EXTRA EVENTS
In addition to our regular socials, the Gems sponsor extra activities throughout the month. We offer fun-filled holiday parties, organized shopping trips, group excursions, and many other opportunities for our members to join each other in “celebrating feminine expression.”  Our event schedule also includes makeup classes taught by professional makeup artists, as well as our very popular "Femme 101" program, a series of small group workshops designed to help you improve your feminine image. Come and explore a whole new world of sparkling possibilities!

SUPPORT FOR PARTNERS
Spouses and significant others are a very important part of our group. SOs who are members have the same rights and privileges as other members, and their needs and concerns are given equal priority.  Many actively participate in the group and enjoy attending our events. We also sponsor a friendship and support group especially for partners. The Partners Group meets monthly, and members stay connected between meetings through their own private Yahoo discussion group. HOW TO GET INVOLVED
It’s simple! If you’d like to attend one of our socials, or if you are interested in membership, you can start by joining our Yahoo discussion group. Click HERE to join. Once you are subscribed, you will have access to announcements and detailed information about the times and locations of our events. When you are ready to attend for the first time, we ask that you let us know in advance, either via the Yahoo group or by contacting a board member. This will enable us to greet you, introduce you to the group, and help you feel welcome.

MEMBERSHIP
Our annual membership fees are $50 for an individual or $75 for a couple. The membership year runs from the first day of March to the last day of  February. Dues are prorated for those joining mid-year. You may attend your first Gems event free as our guest. After that, you have the option of either applying for membership, or continuing to attend as a guest for a door fee of $5 per person, per event. Members do not pay a door fee. Members also enjoy other benefits which will be explained to you when you submit your membership application. One hundred percent of  funds collected from members go directly to supporting group events, activities, literature, and outreach.*
