7:00am -11:00pm Mark your calendar now for our July social. It's always on the second Saturday and always a guaranteed fun time! This month we are in the spacious and COOL Sierra Rooms of our regular hotel. Please RSVP to activities  rivercitygems.org by July 8th to
reserve your spot and make your menu selection.There will be a 3-course dinner, music, a no-host bar with our own bartender, door prizes, drawings, and more. Don't miss out a terrific evening with friends old and new! A hotel room will be available starting at 5pm for those who need to change on site. When you arrive, just stop by the banquet room to pick up a key. This month's menu features four delicious entrees: 1) Crab Fettuccine - Pacific crabmeat tossed with fettuccine, butter, white wine, garlic, parsley and a hint of cream, and topped with Parmesan Cheese 2) Pork Loin with mustard, rosemary crusted red potatoes and vegetables 3) Parmesan Encrusted Chicken breast served with linguine, fresh vegetables and marinara sauce 4) Grilled Portobello Mushroom with roasted peppers, avocado, tomato, grilled onion and basil pesto sauce, served on ciabatta bread (vegetarian) Meals come with salad, bread, iced tea, coffee, and dessert. The price is $20 per person, which includes tax and gratuity. Please pay at the door. For those staying at the hotel, rooms are $89 per night. As always it's a $5 door fee for non-members and no door fee for members and first-time guests.

the Islands!
On July 26th, the Gems will be hosting a Hawaiian Luau
Party -- and you're invited. The party will feature a succulent tri-tip
barbeque and a pot luck dinner. Enjoy the festive sounds of island
music, sip a Mai Tai or a Pina Colada at the bar, take a dip in the
pool, and party the night away with friends old and new. If you're
feeling playful, how about joining in a game of musical beach towels or
entering the hula hoop competition? There will be fun and prizes
galore! Or maybe you'd rather just relax in a lounge chair with a big
piece of coconut cream pie. We'll have something for everyone at the
Gems Luau Party, so mark your calendar now!
Barbecued tri-tip, teriyaki chicken, and
beverages will be provided. Please bring an island-themed dish for the
pot luck. Not sure what to bring? No problem! Just ask us for a list of
suggested pot luck items. Island attire is welcome but not required.
Don't forget your bathing suit if you want to go for a swim!

hula on over and dance your "grass" off with the River City Gems!

6:30-11:30pm The River City Gems are proud to present a very special event this fall - River City Sparkle! The Martinique Ballroom at the Red Lion Arden Village will be the venue for this elegant transgender celebration, with dinner, music, live entertainment, and of course the opportunity to dress in your favorite formal gown and party the night away! Fantasia Fair is a week-long transgender event held every October in the GLBT resort town of Provincetown, Massachusetts. It attracts people from the entire range of the GLBTI community. Crossdressers, transsexuals, intersex individuals, M2Fs, F2Ms, and their significant others are all welcome. The Fair is a “full immersion” experience, meaning that attendees can, and usually do, spend an entire week living 24/7 presenting their gender as they wish. Fantasia Fair started in 1975, “FanFair” is the oldest and longest-running gathering of transgender persons for mutual education, support, collaboration and socializing.
