The February social finds us back at an inviting and easy-to-find room at a secluded LGBT friendly location in Sacramento. There are adjacent private restrooms, one of which can be used for changing purposes. A large parking lot is right outside the entry door. As usual there will be wonderful food, friendship, a door prize and birthday celebrations.
 
Oh, there is one more thing – a talent show! So get out your guitar or kazoo, warm up your voice, practice your juggling or magic tricks, or put on your dancing shoes because it is show time! A few volunteers are needed to entertain one of the friendliest audiences you will ever find. Become the next Gems Idol and having a blast doing it.
 
This social is a pot luck. Get out your favorite pot luck recipe, take over the kitchen and whip up a dish to make Rachael Ray proud. We will need main dishes (e.g., chicken, beef, vegetarian), side dishes, a few salads, rolls or biscuits, and some desserts. Please indicate what you will be bringing when you RSVP. RSVP early to ensure you can bring your first choice. Water and soft drinks will be provided. It is BYOB so bring your favorite wine or beer to enjoy throughout the evening. Dinner will be at 7:30 pm.  
 
The cost is $5 per person and a $5 additional fee for non-paid members. There is no additional fee for first-time guests.
 
An RSVP from each attendee is required. Please indicate:
 
* Which pot luck dish you will be bringing, and
 
* Information about your act if you are going to participate in the talent show.
 
Please cancel if you later find that you cannot attend. If you are no-show without prior cancellation, you may be charged for your share of the room rental cost. Cancellations prior to the deadline are not charged.

The Drab Gabs are a group that meets for support, friendship, and discussion. Attendees are asked to come in DRAB ONLY (male attire). This group is open to anyone who is interested, and is especially intended for those who may not be ready or able to attend events en femme due to personal circumstances. The lunch will be held at a casual, affordable restaurant in Sacramento.

This month's Gems social is a very special one. It's the Gems birthday! The Gems will officially be 4 years old! It's a birthday bash that's not to be missed. We'll have dinner, a huge birthday cake, free prize drawings and music by DJ Dianna .... plus there will be an entertaining audio-visual presentation on the big screen showcasing highlights from Gems' activities of the past year.

The venue will be the same location as the Halloween and Christmas parties. Don't miss this special and fun event. Happy 4th Birthday to our Gems family!

What is bunco? It is a simple, fun game with dice, teams, rounds, scoring points and multiple winners. Actually, it's a fun party, and a great way to socialize and make a new friend or two. Traditionally, it has always been a popular pretext for ladies to get together, chat and gossip, enjoy good food and drink, and just have a fun time without any worries or cares. If you don't know anything about bunco or how to play, don't worry. Bunco is very easy to learn and does not require any skill or talent. You'll be playing and having fun in no time. Bunco rules and more details will be provided after you RSVP. The Gems held our first Bunco party last year and it was huge success, you won't want to miss out on all the fun excitement this time around.

Bunco game night this year is being held at the River City Gems President's and First Lady's home and space is limited, so only the first 24 people will be able to play. Six tables of four, so get your RSVP in now!

The location and a detailed map will be provided after you RSVP. Car pooling is encouraged to ensure plenty of parking space (plus it's good for the environment!)
